Baby girl Zahra Bella Gottschau was born bottom first with Dr. Leeman (read his article about breech) at 4:42 am on January 14th 2008. Because Midwives in New Mexico are not licensed to deliver breech babies out of hospital, Prarie Rose Gottschau chose to pursue a natural birth down in Albuquerque. After a beautiful labor, Zhara and her mom shared an ecstatic birth and first glance. Looking back, Prarie Rose says "every moment was wonderful and all I see is light. I want every woman to know they have this opportunity."

We are profoundly happy to share the news that Sacha Rain Conant was born at her home in Berkeley on the last day of 2007, December 31st, at 4:30 in the morning. Kristen labored at home with fierce beauty and determination for 14 hours with the support of our midwives and friends, and towards dawn Sacha was born under water in a tub we’d set up in the kitchen. When she came up for her first breath, her eyes opened wide and she looked around and soon started chattering away, seeming very happy to have arrived. (Written by Kristen's husband Jeff!)
