While Michelle Gia's partner, Antonio Gomez, tried to get home from fighting fires in Oregon, their new little daughter was born. Aniese Eve Marie Gomez was born this morning only a few hours after Ben - our last little baby. Michelle had two incredible friends with her who supported her through her labor and kept the papa updated. The baby girl weighed 6lbs 4 ozs and was born at 7:46 am on September 30th. Aniese is the newest member of Taos Pueblo and was born on a special day for Taos Pueblo - San Geronimo Day!

Vashti Anaya quickly drove from Santa Fe to Taos in the middle of the night September 30th with her partner Ben James Roybal to give birth in our birthtub. She walked in the door, popped in the tub and had just enough time to fill it with water before her beautiful 6 lbs 14 oz baby boy Ben James Amor Roybal was born underwater! He was born at 2:10 a.m.

Tristan Aren Glauser was born in the water into his father's, Jeremiah Glauser, hands on September 21, 2008 at 9:51 am. His incredible mother is Mary Ratzlaff. He weighed 6 lbs 8 ozs and is welcomed and loved by his older brother Makaiah. What an ecstatic birth! Mary says, "The birth center is a reclamation of human sovereignty, giving
back the blessings of our birth right. Thank you!"

After a "perfect labor" Levi Wolfgang Collins was born into the hands of his father Neil Collins. Shauna Collins gave birth to her son this morning, September 19th, at 8:14 am. Levi weighs 8 lbs 12 ozs and is quite the nurser!

This gorgeous 9lb 8oz baby was born to Alex Reyes Hernandez and Laura Griselda Villenueva of Mexico and Honduras. Cindy Valerio Reyes Villanueva was born Sunday, September 14th at 10:28 pm. She was 21 inches long and welcomed by her loving family!

Isabelle was born on September 12 at 11:20 am into the waiting arms of her parents Chad and Sara. She weighed 6 lbs 11 ozs and was 20 inches long. The new papa says, "She has a little strawberry blondish hair covering her head. Isabelle has blue eyes and delicate little lips. Her personality is peaceful, strong and alert. We are so blessed to have her in our lives!"

Ila Antone and Justin Mondragon gaze at their new daughter, Suzi, who was born into her father's hands on September 11 at the Birth Center. Suzi weighed 6 pounds 9.5 oz and has beautiful black hair. "She's beautiful," said Ila. Jason commented, " Come have your babies with the midwives!"

Local midwife Julie Schochet welcomed her daughter to the world
at home after a fast and intense 4 hour and 15 minute labor
on Friday August 29th at 7:30pm ( a shabbat baby!! ),
Cheylah weighed 6 lb 10 oz. and measured 19 and 3/4 inches when she was born.
"it has been an incredible experience, after serving women and their families as a midwife for so long,
to have it finally be "my turn"; to experience being pregnant, giving birth, and entering motherhood first hand!!
...and to be on the receiving end of such wonderful midwifery care!!! i want to thank Kiersten, Nicole, Joan, Bobbie,
and the rest of the great team at the birth center for supporting me so fully during this huge and
truly awesome time in my life! You gals are great!"

"It was a miracle and a joy. I'm very grateful for the midwives," says Kelly Rosenboom of the natural birth of her son Roland Emmanuel Gonzales at the Birth Center on September 3rd at 5:45 am. Roland weighed 6 pounds 14 oz. Kelly and her partner Anthony Gonzales are very much in love with this darling little boy.

This little baby girl was welcomed at home in Vadito by her parents Aaron and Rebecca Mitchell and big sister Elaine! After a perfect birth Feliciana Rebecca Mitchell weighed 7 lbs exactly. She was born August 20th at 7:23 am. Rebecca says, ""I wish every woman could have the opportunity to experience obstetrical care from caring and supportive midwives, who respect birthing as a natural process. The home birth was a beautiful and peaceful experience for both me and my husband."
